FAQ
1. Is it safe?
Absolutely! Our door isn't made of plastic (Nemco 56455-1) which will warp under hot water or use metal rods (Charlie's Machine multi-purpose air cutter) which offers no protection from getting your fingers getting caught between the blade and pusher block. Our door is made from thick, food-grade stainless sheet metal which must be fully closed to engage the slicing. We've redesigned the safety mechanism dozens of times and our version is the best model available on the market. Planned obsolescence is what companies that offer 60 day warranty's do. We don't build plan-to-fail products and that is why we offer a 5 year warranty.
2. Is it easy to set up?
Definitely! Just plug and play. We ship these slicers 98% assembled and all you would have to do is take it out of the box, place the door handle on the door, secure it with a nut, plug in your air compressor hose to the brass colored port and you will be slicing in under a minute. Doesn't get any easier than that.
3. Will it last?
This is a heavy-duty, commercial grade machine that was built to survive an around the clock duty-cycle. Wether your restaurant is open throughout the day or 24 hours a day, this slicer will keep up with your demands and do all the hard work for you.
4. Do I need to maintain it?
Simply put one tiny drop of mineral oil on the long bolts so the slide assembly glides easier before use. This is not required, but will certainly make your machine work much easier.
5. Warranty?
Yes, while our competitors offer only a 90-day or 1-year warranty, we provide an industry-leading 5-year warranty. Our products are built to last, and we fully stand behind them.
6. Would I need to buy anything else along with your slicer?
Yes, you would need to purchase an air compressor to power it. Next to hydraulic (which is over-kill and not available nor recommended for slicing machines) air-powered drives are the strongest power source. Electrical motors fail easily and are not suited to handle this type of workload. In the past, companies have tried to make and sell electrical slicers but due to the very short life-span and failure rate, they discontinued them. Also, electrical versions move very slow whereas an air-powered slicer can process 5-6 work cycles by the time an electrical slicer can process 1 cycle. Back to the compressor, you could buy an "ultra-quiet Kobalt 23 gallon compressor" at Lowes for $369 which would be enough for a fast food restaurant or a 60 or 80 gallon compressor which would be suitable for a commercial kitchen that would run the slicer continuously.
7. Where would the air compressor be located?
We have seen restaurants set up tiny 10-gallon ultra quiet air compressors underneath the counter, in a closet, in an attic, on the roof, outdoors or on a roller cart. You can store the air compressor just about anywhere inside or outside the building. We suggest you have an ultra quiet compressor if you plan to locate it nearby or a long enough air hose if you plan to store it further away.
8. Is it strenuous to use your slicer?
Not at all. Unlike Nemco's Monster Kutter, which requires a tiring horizontal motion with increased friction from its moving parts, our slicer operates on a hinged vertical plane, allowing for a more natural and effortless hand movement. In contrast, manual vegetable slicers demand significant force, leading to operator fatigue and excessive strain on the back, neck, shoulders, elbows, forearms, and wrists. Over time, this repetitive strain can take a serious toll on the body. Our slicer is the fastest and easiest to operate on the market, making it unquestionably superior to anything in its class.
9. What is the return policy?
Our custom-made slicers take significant time and effort to build, so we don't offer refunds. However, they come with a industry leading 5-year warranty, and we will gladly repair or replace any non-consumable part that breaks within that period.
10. If I ever have any questions, would someone from technical support be available to chat?
Absolutely. Our main phone line connects directly to our technical support expert, who has over 20 years of experience in pneumatics and is ready to assist with any questions you may have. In case of an emergency, you can call after hours, and he will still be available to help. Just dial (833) 3-SLICER.
